About R-Sega
ROBOTIC SURGICAL EXCELLENCE IN GYNAECOLOGY
Advanced Training Workshop (R-SEGA)
RSEGA workshop marks a significant opportunity for participants to engage in hands-on training, keynote speeches, and interactive sessions, all focused on the latest advancements and innovations in robotic technology for gynecological procedures.
Since its inception in 2022, this workshop has served as a platform for practicing surgeons to convene and exchange knowledge, fostering the evolution of techniques, outcomes, and experiences. The 3-day program, designed as an immersive “All hands-on, All the time” manual training experience, aims to enhance surgeons’ robotic skill sets while offering structured training in complex procedures and the management of potential complications.
Participants will have the opportunity to practice on highly realistic biological tissue surgical simulation models, providing the highest fidelity in surgical simulation. Additionally, attendees will observe live surgeries on the first day of the course, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience that bridges theory with real-world application.
RSEGA Thessaloniki follows the same principles, aiming to expand the reach of robotic surgery education beyond the capital, Athens. Live surgeries, along with hands-on training in dry labs and simulators, provide an exceptional opportunity for participants to become acquainted with robotic surgery techniques in gynecology.
Our Objectives
This workshop provides a comprehensive understanding of the application of robotic surgery through extended hands-on sessions focused on a variety of gynecological procedures. The target audience includes gynecologists seeking to incorporate robotics into their surgical practice.
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to apply key concepts fundamental to robotic surgery, including robot docking, trocar placement, suturing and knot tying, tissue dissection, and troubleshooting potential complications. They will also familiarize themselves with various techniques, equipment, and approaches specific to robotic-assisted gynecological procedures.
Participants will have performed all the procedures on highly realistic Real Tissue Models through simulation training, including myomectomy, oophorectomy, hysterectomy, salpingectomy, and peritoneal biopsies. Additionally, they will gain the ability to safely use uterine manipulators and understand the principles of electrosurgical energy.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to describe safe and efficient operating room setup, review and evaluate advanced surgical techniques to enhance the performance of complex gynecologic procedures, and integrate complementary technologies to facilitate robot-assisted surgery. Finally, they will also be equipped with strategies to avoid and manage complications, ensuring improved surgical outcomes.
Meet the Faculty
During the whole workshop experienced GYN robotic and minimally invasive surgeons will proctor all participants.
